From weddings, birthdays and barn dances to festivals and celebrations, Ceilidh bands are as relevant today as they have been in the past. Although the word Ceilidh simply means a social gathering, we tend to associate it with traditional Scottish or Irish music and dancing. A range of instruments can be used: traditionally a mix of fiddle, flute, tin whistle, bodhrán, accordion, and hammered dulcimer. In more recent years drums, guitar, mandolin as well as bouzouki and bass guitar has also been added to the potential line-up.
So, if you’re in need of a Ceilidh band for an event you’re planning we’re here to give you a helping hand. Enjoy the cheerful and lively music and get people up and dancing! Here’s some of the traditional Irish and Ceilidh bands you can find on Headliner.
